The fourth chapter, in a way, describes the long and complex process of entering adulthood which, even in the most traditional countries, takes place de facto at the end of the third decade of life. Following this, the professional situation of most young people starts to become stable, decisions concerning the organisation of privacy are made, and there is a chance for independence. With regard to the length and complexity of this process, the analysed countries are not exceptional. The universal trends related to the impact of the free-market economy on employment and stability of life are ruthless here; moreover, the local specificity and barriers make this process even more intense than in wealthier countries with more stable foundations of development (Germany is an example here).
