Description
A generalized sphere decoding (GSD) algorithm is developed. Its application for detecting information symbols in a multi-antenna cellular system with N antennas at the mobile and M N antennas at the base station is considered. GSD reaches the maximum likelihood (ML) performance for both up and down link with a moderate complexity.
Introduction: In this letter, we focus on the detection problem of an asymmetrical multi-antenna system. We consider a generalization of the well-known sphere decoder (SD) 1], which is used to decode a cellular communication system with N antennas at the mobile and M N antennas at the base station.
