Description
The effect on sporulation of the fungus Nomuraea rileyi of endosulfan at 175 g a.i., profenofos at 100 g a.i., trichlorfon at 400 g a.i., permethrin at 12.5 g a.i., and diflubenzuron at 15 g a.i., in mixture with the culture medium Sabauroud-maltose-agar plus 1% yeast extract was evaluated in vitro. Plates containing 20 ml of culture medium were spread with 0.1 ml of the conidia suspension and collected and counted 12 days later. The isolate of N. rileyi used was obtained from the noctuid Anticarsia gemmatalis. No significant differences were observed between permethrin, diflubenzuron and the untreated control. Sporulation was totally inhibited by profenofos and endosulfan, and trichlorfon reduced conidia production.
