Description
With the increasing Renewable Energy Source penetration, more challenges, including load mismatches and voltage fluctuations, will occur inside Conventional Distribution Networks (CDN). Virtual Microgrid(VM) is a potential solution for addressing these drawbacks by partitioning a CDN into several interconnected microgrid-style VMs. This paper proposed multi-objective planning by concurrently evaluating the economic aspect of power grid operations and functional & structural quality of grid partitions in heuristic optimization. We develop the conventional community detecting algorithm from the Complex Network Theory with the considerations of the power grid's supply-demand relations and electrical characteristics. The result shows that with the comprehensive assessments between cost and structural aspect, the allocations of Distributed Generators receive a trade-off between cost and rate of self-ad-equacy.
