Description
Studies were made of the root activity of young lemon trees from April to June and from September to November (post-rainy season) at different depths (20-60 cm) and radial distances (60-180 cm from the trunks), assessed from the leaf 32P activity 15-45 days after 32P placement. From April to June root activity was highest at 20 cm depth, with little difference between that at different radial distances. In the post-monsoon period root activity was highest at a radial distance of 60 cm, with little difference between that at different depths.
