The article is devoted the issue of the day of estimation of financial stability of insurance companies. It is determined that among scientists there is no single point of view regarding indicators, which assesses the financial stability of the insurer. Was made a comparative analysis of methods of estimation of financial firmness of Ukrainian and foreign insurers. Based on these results devepoled recommendations to improve the assessment of financial stability of insurance companies in Ukraine. The directions of providing and strengthening of fi nancial fi rmness of insurers in the conditions of market principles development of manage are outlined.
