O)!• Digitized maps of Quaternary deposits and the EU Integrated Agricultural Control System databases (IACS/Bloc-map) were used in a GIS analysis to estimate the distribution and land use of agricultural peat and gyttja soils in Sweden (PeatBlocs) and area was estimated to be about 300.000 ha. In the 1940 th the area was about 700.000 ha, so a large area is abandoned.
