Description
Focuses on changes to the work environment for improving employee health, reviews the literature on how task and technical interventions, role clarity, and social relationships influence employees' health, and examines interventions implementing multiple changes in the work environment. Although the author concludes that the results are encouraging with many positive outcomes, not all studies have been supportive of the effectiveness of changing jobs or social relationships in promoting health or preventing distress. The chapter concludes with some alternative approaches that should be considered in developing and evaluating prevention programs.(PsycInfo Database Record (c) 2022 APA, all rights reserved)
