Long after retiring, academics may still dream regularly about being at their place of work. Perhaps it is a dream about missing the first class in a new semester so that there is nobody there to teach the students or worse still turning up for that same lecture without having prepared any material to speak about to the students. Or, it could even be turning up to class to find the room has been double booked. Worse still, it might be finding a large lecture room, in which they have a class waiting at the door, fitted out with several tiers of seats ready for a performance of Much Ado about Nothing. Or maybe it is their work desk or room they dream about. They either cannot find it any longer or else it is now occupied by someone else and there is nowhere for them to work.
