Description
A study was carried out in this paper aimed at finding evidence to support the notions that ideation process and creative problem solving technique in particular Story Writing can be explained by reference to SCHEMA theory. Evidence was sought by having two groups of students generate ideas to solve a particular problem. A fictional story was used as a stimuli. Then the participants were required to provide an account of how they thought they got the ideas in this problem solving exercise. The main findings were the existence of SCHEMAs and the use of SCHEMAs in the ideation process. How the Story Writing technique works is well explained by using this SCHEMA framework.
