The California Regional PM10/PM2. 5 Air Quality Study (CRPAQS) was a multiyear effort to understand the causes of elevated particulate matter (PM) concentrations in central California, and to evaluate ways to reduce them (Watson et al., 1998). This study had multiple goals and objectives, which were grouped into the following tasks:
