Description
Change (UNFCCC) defines climate change as that “which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.”(3) The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has a slightly wider definition, inasmuch as it sees climate as a totality of different variables (precipitation, temperature etc.) and states that climate change can take place by a combination of natural and anthropogenic forcings (IPCC, 2007, p. 78).
