Description
The narcissistic admiration and rivalry concept (NARC) distinguishes between an agentic dimension (admiration) and an antagonistic dimension (rivalry) of grandiose narcissism. Both can be measured with the narcissistic admiration and rivalry questionnaire (NARQ). In a population sample (n= 2513), it was first examined how admiration and rivalry are related to the presence of mental disorders and the use of treatment and medication in the general population. Using a clinical sample (n= 475), the bifactorial structure and reliability of the NARQ was then examined in a clinical context. Moreover, the nomological network of admiration and rivalry including maladaptive personality traits and indicators of mental suffering were investigated.
