Description
Following the Border XXI Framework Document that indicates significant growth in both population and vehicles in the border region between the US and Mexico linking increases in human health problems and air pollution from mobile sources efforts are underway to characterize mobile source pollution. Such characterizations are key elements in understanding not only the types of air pollution that the mobile sources cause but also by studying the behaviors and attitudes of the polluters policy makers may learn how to reduce the burden of air pollution on the general public and reduce health and aesthetic hazards along the US-Mexico border region. Mexico and the United States are at the threshold of determining future policies to encourage reduction of air pollution from mobile sources along the US-Mexico border.
