Description
Seven groups of 3 hamsters were orally inoculated with ∼ 3000 ova of T. canis and killed 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 14 days later. Larvae were first recovered from the lungs and liver 2 days pi, and from the brain on day 3, and the kidney, heart and muscle on day 4 pi. 5 groups of chicks were orally inoculated with 5000 ova and killed 15, 22, 32, 42 and 58 days later. Larvae were recovered from the liver and lungs on day 15, and from the brain and muscle on day 32 pi. No larvae were recovered from the kidney or heart.
