Diversity within thirty genotypes of tossa jute were estimated following Mahalanobis’s D2-statistics and the genotypes were grouped into eleven distinct cluster and fibre yield/plant had showed maximum contribution towards divergence. The maximum inter-cluster distance was observed between clusters IX and XI followed by the clusters X and XI. The genotype from cluster IX, Bidhan Rupali, KOM 62 may be combined with hybrid with JRO 632 from cluster XI to develop hybrid for yield and its attributing characters.
