Description
Purpose
The Bronchiolitis Obliterans Syndrome (BOS) limits long term survival after lung transplantation and is associated with viral infections. Natural Killer (NK) cells play an important role in the defense against viral infections and their activation is largely controlled by activating and inhibitory Killer Immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs). The aim of our study was to determine if the patients’ KIRs influence the development of BOS and CMV infection after lung transplantation.
