Description
Purpose
Despite the use of immunosuppressives mainly influencing T-and B-cell responses, the survival after lung transplantation is poor. This is mainly due to the high occurrence of chronic rejection. Possibly, the innate immune system may contribute to the development of BOS. Mannose Binding Lectin (MBL), which is involved in complement activation, has been associated with chronic rejection in kidney and simultaneous pancreas-kidney transplantation. The aim of our study was to investigate the relation between MBL values and the outcome of lung transplantation.
