12 Holstein calves PO had been used, with average initial age of 10 days and 27.5 kg weight, randomly distributed, in two treatments (6+ 6 animals). Each animal was observed in six different scales: 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 minutes of interval between records. The objective was to identify the better time intervals for study the ingestive behavior in the phase of suck. The ingestive behavior of ruminants can be studied with scale of up to 10 minutes of interval between comments; when the study objects will be average daily of feeding, ruminating and idle or the variables related to the feeding efficiency and ruminating the studies can be executed up to 30 minutes of interval without compromising the trust worthiness of the results.
