Description
This review aims to illustrate recent progress in a large variety of InCl3-catalyzed/mediated reactions performed in solvent and/or under solvent-free conditions. The review has been organized starting with the introduction of organic synthesis via multicomponent reactions, followed by advantages of InCl3 as catalyst and an overview of the organic reactions that have been traditionally conducted under InCl3 catalysis. No attempt has been made to be exhaustive in exemplifying all reaction types. In view of the absence of any previous review article focusing on the above topic, the present report would encompass the developments up to the year 2011. Most of the examples have been selected from recent reports, seminal, and important contributions to this area and have been conveniently credited. 1 e3
