Description
The MONADS project was established in 1976 at Monash University, with the main aim of investigating improved techniques for designing and developing large software systems. This paper gives a brief history of the project and discusses the aims and objectives of the MONADS system. This is followed by a description of the latest phase of the project, the development of a small microprogrammed workstation (called MONADS-PC) specifically designed to support the MONADS architecture.
