AGAA b st ra ct s Mo1596 DUAL-SPECIFICITY PHOSPHATASE 6 DEFICIENCY ENHANCES GUT BARRIER INTEGRITY AND MICROBIOTA EUBIOSIS AGAINST DSS-INDUCED COLITIS IN MICE CHENG-YUAN KAO, Cherng-Shyang Chang, Yi-Chu Liao, Chih-Ting Huang, Chiao-Mei Lin, Yi-Ting Tsai, I-Jung Lin, Jhen-Wei Ruan, Yu-Chieh Liao Leaky gut and microbiota dysbiosis have been linked to many chronic inflammatory diseases. Enhancing gut epithelial barrier is therefore a novel but omitted strategy for management of gut microbiota associated diseases. With the dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced gut barrier injury-based colitis model, we found that the DSS-induced body weight loss, rectal bleeding and colonic epithelium damage were ameliorated in dual-specificity phosphatase 6 (Dusp6)-deficient mice. The anti-colitis effects could be attributed to the enhanced colon barrier integrity conferred by …
