Description
Much of the recent AI-LLM literature has been apocalyptic in pointing out the risks of AI technology,“mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war”(Center for AI Safety 2023). Rather than seeing AI as a threat to our teaching mission (and existence), we propose looking at it as an opportunity to reengage students and impart necessary skills for the next generation of bioethicists (Ross 2021, Trang and Palmer 2023). One of us is a former computer tech journalist who covered the rise of the world wide web and has researched digital medicine in the clinic and classroom (Klugman and Gerke 2022; Michelson et al. 2022; Klugman 2023).
