Microincrements of otoliths of 151 T. albacares, caught in the western Indian Ocean were used to establish growth curves. Transverse otolith sections in light microscopy were chosen to observe to estimate age in days. The von Bertalanffy growth curve,FL = 272.7 (1 - e - 0 . 1 7 6 ( t + 0 . 2 6 6 ) ), where FL = fork length in cm and t in years, is very similar to those obtained by other investigators.
