Descripción
We present an updated soil fundamental period map (Ts) of the southern portion of the Valley of Mexico and its uncertainty estimates. We computed Ts in the southern basin section by analyzing continuous ambient seismic noise (ASN) recordings in more than 500 short-term portal stations and the Horizontal-to-Vertical Spectral Ratio (HVSR). In the station deployment, we carefully considered factors, including a minimum of three days of continuous recording and instrument homogenization. To obtain and assess the reliability of Ts and its uncertainty, we performed a statistical analysis of the HVSR at each station. We varied the values of all parameters involved in the computation. The proposed iso-periods map reveals differences in several regions when compared against the current and previous versions of Mexico City's building code, with differences in the soil period ranging between 10% and 500%.
