This thesis presents a brief introduction to the field of statistical databases and the problem of statistical database security, beginning with a survey of common techniques in the major areas of research, data perturbation and query restriction, and progressing to new results for the compromise problem. The work of Brankovic and Siran [Bu] in the 2-compromise problem for 1-dimensional databases with range queries is completed for the case of even n< 52, giving maximum query set sizes and usabilities, and showing the bound of n 2
