Description
Assessment of structures behavior under seismic loads based on Performance-Based Design (PBD) is expanding every day especially in the geotechnical and structural engineerings. In the presented research, seismic behavior of a building is surveyed and the dynamic interaction effects between the soil and the structure on building respond are evaluated. Finite Difference Method (FDM) was applied for numerical modeling. Also, Ricker wave for seismic load modeling and concrete specification for structural components were used. The studied parameters are comprised of structural impedance ratio to the soil, structure height to width, and structural foundation embedment and their effects on roof horizontal displacements at its centerline and horizontal ground displacements in foundation level are investigated.
