Description
Despite the development of a large number of refined multicriterion decision aid (MCDA) methods and procedures, none can be considered as the ‘super method’appropriate to all decision making situations. Hence, how can one choose an appropriate procedure to a specific decision situation? The aim of this thesis is to propose a methodological framework to address this question. The study of the decision aid process helped us to characterize at least 1400 different decision making situations by proposing a set of inputs and a set of outputs. The inputs characterize the data and the modeling elements of local preferences. However, the outputs characterize the results produced by a multicriterion aggregation procedures (MCAP). The analysis of different MCAP allowed us to associate them with the different decision making situations. We put forward a set of properties in order to discriminate between the MCAP appropriate to the same decision making situation. In this thesis, the engineering of choice of an appropriate MCAP was proposed and an architecture of selection tool was suggested.
