Description
Despite the large volume of literature on lizard thermal biology, there has been relatively little work comparing age classes within a species. Theoretical considerations suggest age class specific differences might occur. Biophysical models predict that large lizards will experience higher body temperatures than small lizards in equilibrium with the same thermal conditions (Porter and Gates, 1969; Porter et al., 1973; Porter and James, 1979, Stevenson, 1985).
