Description
The results of 3D monitoring of active faults in the Rheingraben (Germany) and in the Cordillera Blanca (Peru) are discussed in order to illustrate the main characteristics of the equipment employed and the potential value of quantitative data acquisition in areas of active tectonics. Furthermore, we discuss the problems connected with the installation and operation of the monitoring system installed on behalf of the EC-COST action at Monte SanAngelo (Gargano Promontory, Italy).
