Description
The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) issued a consultation paper entitled ‘Developing the role of school support staff’in October 2002. This paper set out a range of activities and proposals to be taken forward in relation to school support staff and notably proposed three broad–but not exclusive-career progression routes for school support staff:
• the pedagogical route;• the administration and organisation route; and
• the behaviour and guidance route.
